Spelling Competition

We held a dramatic spelling competition in our KS2 assembly, much like an American Spelling Bee.  Year 3, 4 and 5 classes nominated their most confident boy and girl spellers to represent their class.  It was a great achievement just be chosen for this contest.  These children have been working extremely hard on their year group’s word lists (and the year group’s above) all year.  The tournament itself was TOUGH!  Children had to spell three words in front of the assembly audience.  They had to spell them out loud into the microphone which is much harder than writing them down.  Year 5 had to go into a ‘knockout’ round to decide the winner!  There was a prize for all competitors, not just the winners in each year  group.  Well done to everyone.  We are already looking forward to the next competition in the Autumn term.  Keep working on those word lists over the Summer holiday!

Haniya - I loved it! Even though it was quite scary up there, I had a lot of fun! Everyone had such a great score! Can't wait for the next one!
