Lawford Mead Parents Association (formerly known as PALMS) is a registered charity (803528). The objective of the charity is to advance the education of the pupils at Lawford Mead Primary School.
Parents and friends of the school organise a variety of fund raising, community spirit and fun events. In recent years the Parents Association has organised school discos, inflatable days, school fetes, pamper evenings, Christmas shopping evenings and many more activities.
We rely entirely on voluntary help and need the support of all those connected with the school to run these events. All are welcome to join the association. We have a committee of parents who oversee the organisation and a wider group of those parents who are able to offer help from time to time. Any help, big or small is greatly appreciated. If you are interested in joining please speak to the school reception. Meetings are usually held once a month on Mondays at 2:30pm. Please see the school calendar for forthcoming meetings and events.
The money raised is used for educational resources and equipment for the benefit of the pupils of Lawford Mead Primary School.

To date we have had another busy year organising events for the children, with a very successful Summer Fete raising £2,180.
As a result of your continued support and generosity, the PA have been able to purchase the new outside gym equipment for KS2 pupils.
For the remainder of the year we will be organising a parents Christmas shopping event and a Christmas disco for the children. We are aiming to purchase a defibrillator for the school and local community with the money raised from these events.

The PA had a busy time at the end of the Spring term. Many thanks for your support with the Mother's day gifts, Easter raffle and the Easter disco. The events were very successful and raised over £1100.00. We are very pleased that the PA has now been able to purchase the defibrillator for the school. Each child in the school received an Easter Egg from the PA and new basketballs have been purchased for break and lunchtimes. We are now busy planning the Summer term's events - father's day and the Summer fair. Our next fund raising goal is to purchase outdoor seating areas for the children. We greatly appreciate your ongoing support and please look out in for the newsletter as we will be asking for some donations of cakes, good quality second hand toys, filled jam jars etc., ready for the Summer fair.
